About Us
RDS Engineering is a Canadian Engineering Company formed by members of the nuclear design community who are confident in their ability to produce quality design products on time and on schedule.

RDS Engineering Assumes The Risk

A security bond equal to fifty percent of a project’s contractual amount will be held in escrow. If our design product requires rework due to poor quality or if we miss any project milestone, our security bond will be used to cover penalties, costs of any rework and to bring the project back on schedule. As stated, RDS Engineering assumes the risk.

Cost Effective Rates

Our rates are as low as any in-house design group or external design agency. We base our estimates on the following rates:

  • $80 per person-hour for design engineering services
  • $70 per person-hour for configuration management work
  • $50 per person-hour for drafting services

There are no mobilization / de-mobilization expenses charged to the client. The client does not pay extra for costs associated with staffing project, preparing office space, obtaining necessary equipment & software, creating database tools.

We will cover any costs for hours associated with Orange Badge Training, Passport Training and obtaining Security Clearance for our staff.

Quality Assurance Program

RDS Engineering maintains a Quality Program that conforms to the requirements of CSA N286.2 and CSA Z299.1.

Professional Designation
RDS Engineering is registered with the Professional Engineers of Ontario as a designated engineering consulting company.

E & O Insurance
RDS Engineering has Errors & Omissions Insurance required by OPG and Bruce Power for external design agencies.

Quality Control
RDS Engineering’s quality control program consists of design engineering instructions and procedures that ensure our design deliverables are in line with our client’s Engineering Change Control Process.

We use the same process and terminology as our clients to reduce errors and misunderstandings regarding deliverables.

Our document control process in in line with our clients. Years after we complete a design modification, our client will understand what modifications we performed, why we performed them and locate any supporting design documentation. Our modification process will stand the test of any audit.

Security
All RDS Engineering staff will have security clearance before starting work. All information used or produced for any project will be treated as the client’s proprietary information and will be protected from disclosure. All documents with sensitive or proprietary information will be kept separate and secure.
